Skill acquisition, transfer and application: A study of investigative interviewing training in the Queensland Police Service.
Duration:
April 2014–April 2019
My research is focussed on the process associated with skills acquisition in a training environment and the subsequent transfer and workplace application of those skills. I am using the QPS as a case study examining a specific set of hard (technical) and soft (cognitive) skills associated with police investigative interviewing. Of particular interest are the trainee, training and workplace factors that directly impact on acquisition, transfer and application of those skills.
