Galih Wisnu Pradipta is a PhD Candidate at the School of Social Science, The University of Queensland. He is undertaking his doctoral research from a multidisciplinary perspective, drawing on Criminology, Sociology, and Public Policy, under the supervision of Professor Adrian Cherney (Professor Adrian Cherney | UQ Experts)  and Associate Professor Renee Zahnow (Associate Professor Renee Zahnow - School of Social Science - University of Queensland). Galih’s research focuses on the complex dynamics between state agencies and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (P/CVE) in Indonesia. His work investigates how collaboration, trust-building, and strategic partnerships shape the effectiveness of P/CVE initiatives on the ground.

With over a decade of experience as a law enforcement officer and community development practitioner, Galih combines practical field insights with academic rigour. His current project explores the role of multi-stakeholder networks, local governance, and community-based resilience strategies to strengthen reintegration and rehabilitation programs for former violent extremists. He is actively engaged in fieldwork, conducting in-depth interviews and focus group discussions with CSOs, state agencies, and community leaders. Galih’s research aims to generate evidence-based recommendations to enhance state–civil society cooperation and inform policy frameworks across Southeast Asia, especially Indonesia.
