Mr Yanheng Fang

Patrick (Yanheng) is currently undertaking a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) at The University of Queensland, in the School of Social Science. With academic qualifications in both social work and accountancy, and several years of professional experience as a data analyst, he hopes to bring a multidisciplinary perspective to research. 

Patrick is a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and a certified TensorFlow developer. With a strong passion for both social science and artificial intelligence, his current research explores the potentials of generative AI to support social service organisations at micro and macro levels.

The planned project will focus on the development and research of automated methodologies to support documentation practices in social work, and service users’ storytelling toolkits. The project aims to improve the efficiency of social work practice while aligning with social worker’s professional values and principles of explainable & responsible AI.
