PhD Project:

Understanding the embodiment of feminism among Chilean women

Given the central role of the body in women’s subordination and its significance in the ongoing political struggle for women’s, aiming to improve their conditions and rights it becomes fundamental to examine how women’s corporeal practices can serve as means for challenging dominant feminine ideals and dismantling patriarchal control, but also how they can sometimes reflect compliance with the traditional social construction of gender and patriarchal norms.
