- Anthropology
- Archaeology
- Criminology
- Sociology
- Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice (Honours)
- Bachelor of Social Science (Honours)
Programs in other Faculties where you can complete Honours with the School of Social Science
- Bachelor of Science (Honours) with the following Field of Study:
- Archaeological Science
- Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) with the following Field of Study:

Application Steps
1. Please read through the Important Honours Dates
Ensure you are aware of all dates and deadlines for your Honours application. Key dates for each step are detailed below, and a summary of all Important Honours Dates can be found on the School of Social Science Honours page.
2. Attend an Honours Information session the year before you would like to commence Honours
Students interested in commencing Honours in 2027 need to attend the Honours Information session. The Honours information session was held on Wednesday 23 September 2026. If you missed the session, you can download a copy of the slides below. The session was not recorded.

3. Check the Honours Entry Requirements
Use the following link to check the entry requirements for the program you would like to apply for. If you do not meet the entry requirements, or have questions regarding the entry requirements, please contact the School of Social Science.
4. Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for Honours
Download the Expression of Interest form (PDF) below and once completed, email it to student.socsci@uq.edu.au. You will receive an email response to confirm lodgment of your EOI form. Expression of Interest forms for students who are interested in commencing Honours in 2027 are due on the 30th October 2026 (Friday Week 13).

5. Submit an online Honours Application via apply.uq.edu.au
Students are expected to complete the online Honours Application process at the same time as submitting their expression of interest.
You must submit both an EOI and online Honours Application

Mid-year entry (Semester 2 commencement) is not accepted for any School of Social Science Honours programs.
All applications will only be considered for Semester 1 entry.
