Charlotte obtained a Master’s degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology at the VU University in Amsterdam before moving to Brisbane in 2014 to work as a Project Manager and Research Assistant at the University of Queensland. In the School of Social Science and the Institute for Social Science Research she has been involved in qualitative research projects investigating a range of issues, including homelessness, housing and the 2011 Brisbane floods. At the School of Social Science she is currently working as the Project Manager for the ARC funded research on neighbourliness.
During her Master’s studies, Charlotte’s primary area of research was violence and human security. Her thesis sought to create a better understanding of the coping mechanisms that develop in relation to an acute increase in violence and insecurity, within the context of the Mexican war on drugs.
