BCCJ

Students completing the Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice (Hons) do not need to apply for honours. Once all requirements for year 1-3 (Part A and Part B) are met, students will be able to progress into the next honours intake. Students must start their honours program in Semester 1.

Emails will be sent to students at the end of Semester 1 in the year before honours to ask students to indicate if it is their intention to begin honours the following year, and to complete and eligibility check. Eligible students will be asked to confirm their progression into the honours year following semester 2 grade release (by beginning of second week of December).

All students progressing into honours will be contacted VIA THEIR STUDENT EMAIL in mid-January with a list of potential projects/study options. Students will then be required to complete a preference form and return within 7 days (as detailed in the email).

Included on this preference form will be the option of completing on of the Industry thesis projects (via CRIM4104) or completing an individual research thesis project through CRIM4103 (Criminology and Criminal Justice Research Thesis). Students who wish to complete the CRIM4103 option will also be required to provide a brief statement about the topic of their proposed thesis.

If no preferences are submitted by the due date, students will be assigned to a project by the Honours coordinator.

Students will be notified in early February of their project and student allocation.
