This year marked the first ever Social Science Postgraduate Photo Competition.
The titles of the winning photos are:
Overall winner ($100 prize): Luftun Nahar Lata “A Childhood Lost in Daisies"
- First runner up ($50): Martin Espig “Rodeo at Twilight"
- Second runner up ($50): Kazi Fattah “Us and Them"
The People’s Choice award was a great opportunity for the whole school to get involved in this competition; even if one did not enter the competition, one could choose a winner!
And the people chose -
- People’s choice winner: ($50): Kazi Fattah “Us and Them"
- People’s choice runner up: Maggie Cronin “Two Sides of the Same Bead"
Congratulations to all of the award-winners, and to all those who entered this first photographic competition. There were some really beautiful images, with fascinating insights on societies past and present.
All winning photos will be printed and put on display around the School. Keep an eye out!
In the meantime, you can view all of the entries online.
The judges of the overall winner, and first & second runner up were Greg Marston, Peter Walters, Alison Crowther and Anne Dighton. The organisers would like to acknowledge the wonderful help we had from Alison Buckley in setting up the competition webpage and online voting gallery – a great job done at very short notice!
